APPEAL DISMISSED.
Reserved judgment was delivered in the Supreme Court to-day by Mr. Justice Ostler in an appeal case, Pope v. Herve, heard on Wednesday, in which the app3llant,' Frank Pope, locomotive driver, of Auckland (Mr. Robinson), appealed against a magistrate's decision adjudicating him the father of the child of Vivienne Herve, spinster (Mr. Townslend) and making an order of maintenance. His Honor stated in his judgment that le accepted as true the evidence of the girl and her mother, and he was -A opinion that the. actions of appellant and his wife in interviewing the girl, on receipt of a letter from her were strong corroboration of the truth of her story that appellant was responsible for her condition. The appeal, therefore, was dismissed, with £7 7/ costs and witnesses expenses.
