DILWORTH BEATS ROSKHX.

1 The conclusion of the fourth series of ' matches in the second round of the Auckland City and Suburban championship, under perfect conditions, early aroused keenest interest with the prospect of two of the three equal leading teams being beaten. R.V., on the principal wicket, and Manukau, on the No. 3 pitch, were the teams that realised their ambitions against Brixton and Green Lane respectively. On Xo. 1 pitch Dilworfch Old Boye made a successful bid for supremacy over Koskill.

Manukau were able to hold out against Green Lane and now lead in the competition by a point from R.V., with Green Lane in third position.

Dilworth started with extreme cautior in the effort to overhaul Roskill's 130 from a carry-over score of 49 at a cost of foui wickets. Taylor and Gibson opened aniJ the total was 83 wlim Taylor was caught for 15. Gibson saw Partridge and Hood dismissed when three figures were nearlj reached. Scott was more enterprising anci he and Gibson (32) brought the total to 121 for seven wicketa at the afternoon tea adjournment at 3.30 p.m. Wickets then fell, but Gibson and Furlonger made a dogged last-wicket stand to bring victory Gibson making the decisive stroke at 4.5 C p.m.. hearty applause being accorded the batsman, who gave his best display this season.
