The co-operative party, at the annual meeting, overwhelmingly endorsed the statement of the executive declaring that peace could be toneluded only with a German Government prepared to restore the independence of the Atistrians, Czechs and Poles, and which would be also ready to give effective guarantees against aggression and -would co-operate in building up a league or federation of nations, guaranteeing the security of the peoples of the world. An amendment condemning war as imperialistic, demanding an immediate armistice and summoning a workers' conference, was defeated in a card vote M»v 3,2.50,000 votes to 1,323.000.
