N.Z. SWIMMING RECORD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association ) CHBISTCHURCH. Sunday. In the Xonlon Cup swimming carnival, C. Cliff, of Christchurch, 100 yds New Zealand backstroke record-holder, broke the 220 yds backstroke record by 2 1-ae, setting a time of 2.34 4-5. Canterbury beat Wellington for the Xordon Cup in the annual contest. Canterbury won the relay decisively, and also won the diving, but Wellington won the water polo.
