This question was discussed liivt at the annual general meeting of the Whangarei A. and P. .Society held in October last, when it was decided to withhold the decision until aftc.r the stock show. At a meeting of the executive of the society this week the treasurer, Mr. J. A. Archibald, submitted a preliminary statement of the stock show, which revealed that the event would probably just balance. Profiting, bv the experience gained, the executive could not take an optimistic view of the result that* would accrue from a winter exhibition without a great deal more support than had been evidenced in the past. It was decided that the executive could not see its way clear to carry on with the 1040 exhibition as in the past without a great deal more assistance and support from the business concerns of the town, and that a public meeting be called to ascertain what support could be guaranteed..
