VERDICT FOR DEFENDANT. After a retirement of two hours the jury concerned with the case, heard before the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon, in which Mrs. Mat'ilda May East, of Papakura (Mr. Holmden'i claimed two guineas special and £500 general damages from the National Trading Company of New Zealand, Ltd. (Mr. Goldstine) brought in a verdict for the defendant company. The claim arose out of a collision on the Hauraki Plains highway between a motor car driven by plaintiff's husband and a grocer's van driven by an employee of the defendant company.
