BIG PARADE.

FOR ALL SERVICES. LINING OF QUEEN STREET, i 6000 MEN TO PARTICIPATE. The military parade in honour of the officers and men of H.M.S. Achilles will be the most spectacular and one of the largest seen in New Zealand for many years. Approximately 6000 officers and other ranks will participate, strong detachments from all the fighting services having bee.n ordered. Officers and men of the Xew Zealand Division of the Royal Navy, the Royal New Zealand Air Force, the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, Territorials and secondary school cadets will make an impressive contribution to the military ceremonial of the day. The North Shore cliffs are to be lined 'by officers and non-commissioned officers oi' the third echelon who are in training at Narrow Neck, and they will be reinforced by Territorials on duty at the forts. Special orders issued by Colonel N. W. McD. Weir, officer commanding the Northern Military District, gave instructions for units of the Navy, Army and Air Force who participate in the Queen Street parade, which, will begin at the intersection of Queen and Quay Streets. More than 3000 secondary school cadets and all Auckland Territorial unite will line both sidee of Queen Street from the Central wharf to Myers Street. Between these military ranks will march the Navy, Army and Air Force detachments, which will provide a guard of honour outside the Town Hall. The parade will be commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel N. L. Territorials and Cadets. Territorials and senior cadets will line the route at 10 a.m. . Naval units, which will 'be at the head of the column, will march off at 10.20 a.m. The band of H.M.S. Leander will have pride of place, followed toy landing parties from H.M.S. Leander and H.M.S. Philomel, a detachment of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, the Papakura camp band, a (squadron of New Zealand Divisional Cavalry, the 7th Field Company, New Zealand Engineers, a company of the Divisional Ammunition unit, the 2let (Auckland) Battalion, the band of the Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment, and a detachment from the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Units of the Expeditionary Force, totalling 1530 officer* and men, will travel "by two special trains from the Papakura camp, the first of which will arrive at Auckland at 9-12 a.m.. and the second at 9.25. The troope, led by the camp band, will proceed via Beach Road, Britomart Place and Quay Street to the intersection of Queen Street. The Achilles' ship's company will march up Queen Street to a space which will be kept clear in front of the apex of the Town Hall. Their march will begin at H a.m., after the main parade has passed. Addresses of welcome to the officers and men of the Achilles will be delivered from a platform to be erected outside the Town Hall. Luncheon at Town HalL After the welcome the party from H.M.S. Achillas and their next-of-kin will enter the Town Hall for luncheon, and this will be the signal for other naval detachments, milifary arid Air Force unit* to move off down Queen Street to shed 12 on Central wharf, for luncheon as ths guests of the Auckland Harbour Board. Men of the second echelon, N.Z.E.F., will return to camp at Papakura- after the luncheon. Territorials and senior cadets lining the route will be dismissed after the party from H.M.S. Achilles has arrived in position at the Town Hall. Units which will line the route are Ist Heavy Group, New Zealand Artillery, [Ist Anti-Aircraft Group, Ist Field Brigade, N.Z.A., Ist Field Company. New Zealand Engineers, Northern Depot Corps of Signals, Ist Battalion, the Auckland Regiment, Auckland Company, New Zealand Scottish Regiment, and senior cadets from King's Colleger Auck-. land Grammar .School, Seddon Memorial Technical College, Otahuhu Technical High School, Mount Albert Grammar School, Takapuna Grammar School and Sacred Heart College. Senior cadets will wear their school uniforms.
