Land and crop returns, income tax returns, benzine tax rebate return*, wages tax returns, stock returns, social security, poultry and fruit returns, and now alfurther spare-time amusement — "Labour Wanted" returns. Mr. X. ha* a fine farm and built a new cottage for a milker who promised to stay—but left for a good job on the Public Work* at higher wages. Mr. X. is not squealing. and doesn't blame the man; but he took the only course and cut out the cows. If they* want to know whether there is a shortage of farm labour, let them a«k the country land agents, stock auctioneers, etc. They will take you to the milking sheds where the young children are working. I*m just in from haymaking and too dead tired to eat a meal, and wouldn't fill in a form for all the advisory councils in Russia, or Xew Zealand.
