FOOT EXERCISES.
So many women consider style a* the firet eseential when purchasing foot-wear-that it is small wonder to find so many cases of foot ailments. It is sound advice to suggest that comfort should come first; but eince thu advice will not be taken in the majority of instances, there is the probability that a little knowledge of foot exercises of a nature that will help to keep the feet strong and heaTthy will prove acceptable. For strengthening the toes it is an excellent plan to stand in the bare feat on a book, stretching the toes firet downwards and then upwards. To do this it will bf necessary to stand with the toes over the edge o"f the book. For general strengthening exercise, stand with feet together and raise the body slowly until standing on tiptoe, then lower as slowly. A good form of exercise for flat fest and fallen arches is to walk around the room on the outside edge of the feet. Cross the legs alternatively, making as large a circle in the sir as possible with the point Of the feet. A hot foot bath each evening, followed by a cold plunge, is both soothing and stimulating.
