AMUSEMENTS.

ROXY-TIVOLI. Even the most hardened horror fans are in for an evening of suspense to-morrow when "The Man They Could Not Hang" opens a season at toe Roxy and Tivoli Theatres. A startling drama told in sensational fashion, the weird and fascinating film fairly bristles with terror aa it unfolds a blood-curdling story of a scientist who was able to conquer death. Bona Karloff, through his performance, proves conclusively that his title of "King of Horror" is no misnomer. He is superbly cast as a kindly scientist who is tried, convicted and hanged for a murder that he did not commit. In the supporting cast are Roger Pryor, who ""t his first screen appearance in more than two years, Robert Wilcox and lovely Lorna Gray. This unusual screen play is a triumph of suspense and sustained interest. The second feature, which will also be shown at both theatres, is "The Man Who Dared" and unfolds the story of the stubborn courage of an old soldier who rescued the city from the cruel grip of terrorism and gangesters. Jane Bryan, Charley Grapewin and Henry O'Neill fill the leading roles. It is an unusual picture dealing with a family's endeavour to throw off toe yoke of the underworld. AMXnEMEMIS GUIDE.
