MOTOR CYCLE NOTES.
BEACH RACE MEETING. A beach race meeting will be held bv the Auckland Motor Cycle Club at Muriwal Beach on Sunday. March 3. If sufflcien* entries arc received by next Mondav. This meeting will cater for everv type of machine. including: standard touring machine!!, and will provide an excellent opportunity for the novice cyclist, whose cycle will do over 40 miles "an hour, to compete with the more experienced riders The beach races held by the club are run on a straight piece of hard beach, with live laps to the mile. Corners are taken at a speed of not more than live miles an hour, and the race* are really tests of judgment in braking In the period of over 15 years that the club has been conducting beach races, no competitor has been injured. The petrol economy test, which was to have been held next Sunday has been postponed, and will probably be run on
