YOUNG EXCURSIONISTS.
ARRIVAL AT WELLINGTON,

WELLINGTON, thie day.
Six hundred children and their supervising adults, forming a Centennial excursion party from North Auckland, arrived l>y spe-cial train shortly before 12.30, about an hour and a half late, which was fortunate in view of the busy state of the station earlier with race traffic.
The delay was caused by a slight mechanical defect at the crossing sidin<* near Te Kuiti.
The Mayor of Whangarei, Mr. W. Jones, said the trip had been enjoyable thanks to the attention paid by railway officials, particularly the attendants and cleanere. The 337 girls and women in the party marched to trame, by which they were taken to the Newtown echool. The boys and men were taken to other schools. All luggage was also taken by tram.
The Wellington Education Board is in charge of billeting and transportation to the Exhibition and the Health Department and Fire Board have made tbe buildings to be used conform to all the regulations. Temporary cold showers have been put in for both boys and girls. The party visited Parliament House this afternoon and next week will spend three days at the Exhibition. The itinerary includes visits to factories, radio stations and a liner. There will be a ehurch parade to-morrow, than a visit to the Zoo. The museum will be inspected in the afternoon. There will be a combined picture entertainment and recaption at the King's Theatre tomorrow night, when speeches will be given by the Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, and the Mavor Mr T . A. liislop.
