Hunting Moments Well Up — Millament Takes Plate. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Wellington Racing Club's summer meeting was continued to-day in line weather, with the track fast. Raana Runs Well. After being about ninth at the straight entrance, Kuana came lioinn in great style to beat Hunting Moments, who was always tip in the lead in the Mungai'oa Iligliweight, and was two lengths clear at the straight entrance. Raana drew up to the leader half a, furlong from home and won by a neck. Scold, who looked like stopping in the run home, but cam* on again, was a nose away, with tho fast-finishing Morning Flight half a length away. Then came Small Roy, Little Robin, Tho Ring and Prime Quality. • Slowest to begin were Good Sun and Small Boy, who started from outside after playing up. Scold, Hunting Moments and Ruling Star set the pace early, while leaving the straight King's Toast ran oIT the course only to show a great burst of speed and join Hunting Moments racing along the . back. Approaching the straight Hunting Moments drew clear from Scold, Little Robin, The Limbohrn and King's Toast. Hunting "Moments ! looked as though 110 would win, but Raana wore him down. Scold also hung 011 well, while Morning Flight came very fast. Shy lost his rider in the final half furlong. Millament's Good Sprint. Millament, after being in the firing line throughout, caught the leader Military Maid, in the last furlong of the Trial Plate and drew away, winning j easily by a length. Then there -was a gap of four lengths back to Areas, who was clear of Hcbretts, Riiceanccr and Earlscourt. The start was a straggling one, the favourite, Algerian, and Desert Sun being slow away, never to improve. Millament, Areas, Prediction and Military Maid were first out, but when the field settled down Military Maid and Earlscourt moved through to lead, with Lord Lynn, Millament, Areas and* Prediction handy. With the exception that Lord Lynn dropped out, there was no change to the straight entrance, where Millament soon asserted herself. She carried £718 10/ and HMO, Military Maid £311 10/ and £.ISI JO/, and Areas £145 10/ and £32(5. Results:—• MUXGARO.V I!IGIIWEIGHT of £330.
