Features of the British overseas trade returns for December were increases in imports as follows: — Grain and flour, £1.960,000; livestock, £470.000: meat, £1.879,000; dairy produce, £2,479,000: beverages. £570,000; other foods, £2.546,000; iron ore and scrap, £497,000; nonferious ores, £671.000; rawcotton. £2,622,000; oils and seeds, £1.171.000; paper making materials, £623,000; rubber, £302.000; iron and steel manufactures. £1.121.000: nonferrous manufactures. £611,000; textile manufactures, excluding woollens, cottons and eilke. £458,000; chemicals, £538,000; oil manufactures, £1,405,000. Decreases were: — Livestock feeding stuffs, £379.000; fresh fruit, £365,000; tobacco. £1,816,000; wood and timber, £1,177.000; wool, raw and waste, £1,701,000; timber manufactures, £255,000. Export increases were:—Beverages, £739.000; tobacco, £251,000;' coal, £658.000; cotton yarns manufactures, £1,342.000; woollen manufactures, £458.000; silk manisTactures, £395,000; chemicals, £850,000. ,Decreases in wool exports were:—Raw and waste, £371.000; iron and steel manufactures, £617,000; machinery, £617,000; machinery, £1.460,000; vehicles, £1,008,000.
