'PLANE CRASHES.

AUCKLAND PILOT ESCAPES.

BELIEVED ENGINE STALLED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. Pilot Officer R. J. C. Grant, of Ponsonby, Auckland, crashed in a Moth machine -when engaged in practice landings at the flying school at New Plymouth this morning.

It is understood the engine ■ stalled about 200 feet above the ground, and the 'plane crashed in a paddock across the road from the aerodrome.

The machine was considerably damaged, but the pilot escaped with a minor injury.
