NORTH WINS SKEET.
N.Z. CLAY TARGETS. DOUBLE RISE TO GRBNNELL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. When the New Zealand clay-bird championships were continued to-day, the double rise target championship was won by H. Grennell (Port Levy), with 18 hits out of 20. R. Cates (Tokomnru Bay), 17, was second, with Malcolm, Dobson and Hough equal third, with 10 hits.
In the skeet sweepstake of 25 targets l>. 1". North (Whangarei) secured a straightout win by breaking 22. The runners-up were C A. Thomasen (Waitakaruru), J. Stiven (Balclutha) and A. E. Robinson (Auckland). They each broke 21 and received £1 17/.
Tlie second skeet sweepstake was more in the nature of a practice event for tomorrow. wh*n the l!) 40 Southern Hemisphere Hkeet championship will be held. The prize-money was divided between D. North (Whangarel), A. E. Robinson (AuckRind) and W. A. Barnard (Palmerston North), who each broke 22 out of a possible of 2r>.
In a single rise clay-target sweepstake of 15 targets, shot on the live-track system. H. H. Morris (Wellington) secured a straight-out win by breaking 14, for which lie received £3 12/. Other prize-money was divided between 0. A. Thomasen, A. V. Swanson (Hutt) and N. Swanson (Hutt), who each broke 13. |
A "POSSIBLE" SCORE.
Competing in a friendly skeet shoot at the Auckland Gun Club's grounds yesterday, E. J. Schotield secured a possible of 25, the first recorded at the club's range.
