PAINTING LAMP POSTS.
Automobile Association members do not like their lamp posts painted white on ona side only. Objection was taken at last night's meeting of the Auckland branch to the City Council's painting of lamp posts at pedestrian crossings on one side only. The chief patrol officer. Mr. J. B. Hibbert, said the view of the road on the left-hand side was blocked by parked cars, and the poles should bq painted all round so that tliev could be seen from both directions. It was decided to approach the City Council further. A working model of a four-stroke internal combustion engine was exhibited at the meeting. The model, which is to be used for instruction, was obtained by the secretary, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, from the National Road and Motorists' Association, Sydney.
