NOT COMING
Australian Players
A SERIOUS disappointment to New Zealand tennis officials has been caused by receipt to-day of a Press message from Sydney to the effect that the proposed tour of the Dominion by several leading Australian tennis players has been cancelled by the Australian Lawn Tennis Association because of war conditions. Only last week the governing body changed the dates of the New Zealand Centennial championships at Wellington from February 10-17 to February 5-12, this being done to fit in with the suggested travelling arrangements of the Australians. The players expected were J. E. Bromwich, J. H. Crawford, Misses May Hardcastle (who is the holder of the New Zealand women's title, which she won at
Christ church last summer), Nancy Wynne and Thclma Coyne.
