Italian Flyer Attempting World Record. ITALY TO PATAGONIA. (Received tioon.) BUENOS AYRES, January 15. Tlie Italian Embassy ljass announced that Colonel Angela Tondi, who is making an attempt on the world's distance record from Italy 4 to Patagonia, has landed at the Brazilian island of Fernanda Oqnoronlw, 380 miles north-east from Pernumbuco. He flew 4400 miles in 34 liour§ minutes. Jt was earlier reported from Rio de Janeiro that the Civil Aeronautics Authority announced that it had re= ceived a call lor help frp|)i Colonel Tondi. The Italian was believed to be in Atlantic, when he radioed that one engine was failing.
