TASMAN AIRWAYS.
NEGOTIATIONS SUCCEED.
MINISTER'S ASSURANCE
The belief that negotiations were proceeding well and that an announcement would he made shortly regarding the commencement of the transtasmau airways service, was expressed by the Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. Peter Fraser, in an interview this morning.
Mr. Fraser said that when in London he had discussed the proposals with the British Government, and the discussions liad been continued more recently in Sydney and Melbourne with the Federal Government, the Prime Minister, the acting-Minister of Transport and with the directors of Qantas Airways.
"I am satisfied that excellent progress lias been made with the negotiations, and that it will l>e possible to make a definite statement in the near future," suid Mr. Eraser.
