A GOOD TEAM.

1 HA VERA REPRESENTATIVES. i ; ; FOR WELLINGTON AND ASHHURST. 1 > (From Our Own Cor-espondent.) | HAWERA, Monday. [ The Hawern horses Veldette, Kilometre, , Mnhaina and Prime Quality left for ; • .Trentham by train this-morning to coinpete at the Wellington Club's Centennial , Cnp meeting. Air Flight, Racecall, Stencil ' and Radio Call go down to-morrow. . | Veldette has done well since racing .10 successfully during the- holidays, and is , engaged' in the Apprentices' Plate on the [ first day. Although meeting stronger ' opposition than hitherto. Veldette looks ■ | sure to run w-ell and should be in the j money. The filly' will be ridden by J. 1 Williamson. , I Racecall, one of the most consistent I horses racing, has been sprinting bril- ; ' liantly on' the tracks, and is such a ' reliable customer that he appeals as hnv- | ing more than an outside chance in the Telegraph Handicap, when lie will be ridden by P. Spratt. j The Hawera two-year-olds, Sir Flight and Stencil, have made steady improvement since commencing their racing during the holidays, and with the experience I gained, their efforts, especially those of ' the former, for whom the services of W. ( Miidford have been retained, will attract attention. Radio Call, a half brother to Hacecall. has an abundance of speed, but is a bit wayward. The Ashhurst Cup candidate, Notium, is booked to leave on Sunday, also Judgment and Sea Link, who are engaged in minor races. Xotium is in tip top condition, and working as well as he diil prior to his successful outings', at New Plymouth and Stratford meetings. In a gallop with Vel-i dette recently he acquitted himself very satisfactorily. Judgment is as well now | as at any previous time, and should be 1 hard to bent. The Siegfried—Amber Link' filly. Sea Link, is of an extremely nervous temperament, which has so far prevented her from showing of her best. Present intentions are to proceed to Kllerslie at tlm conclusion of the Ashhurst meeting. I where they will be joined bv Disturbed, ! who is engaged on the Becond day of the northern meeting. I Kil otnetre, Mnhaina and Prime Quality, members of O. Cox's team, are all in good racing order, and arc to race on the concluding days at Trentham. I j L. Oeorge has secured V. Dye to ridel j his two-year-old Radio Call in his engage-1 ment on Thursday. •
