WARTIME TOURING.

SOUTH ISLAND PARTY.

MANY WOMEN MEMBERS.

One of the results of the decrease in overseas travel, owing to the war in Europe, is the organisation of a party of 37 tourists from the Otago and Southland provinces on a conducted tour of the North Island.

For many years Mr. T. Ritchie, Dimedin, has been organising and conducting tours overseas, but realising that these [were no longer practicable he has transferred his activities to New Zealand, and this is his first effort in a New Zealand tour. The party visited the exhibition and is now proceeding through the North Island by easy stages. They arrived in New Plymouth from Wanganui on Sunday and went north to the Waitomo Caves yesterday. Afterwards they will come to Auckland and will work south again through Rotorua, Waikaremoana and Napier.

The members of the party are: Mr. and Mrs. A. Martin, Mr. and Mrs. A. Randall, the Misses J. and H. Williamson, Mrs. W. A. Ross, Mr. D. Ross, Mr. K. Ross, Mrs. R. W. Gdendinning, Miss E. Glendinning, Mrs. C. J. and Miss It. Boat wood, Miss V. Alexander, Miss 8. Lockie, Miss Macomish, Miss Ridley, Miss A. Drumin, Miss M. Drumm, Miss Marjorie Bell, Mr. A. G.
