COMMANDER'S POST.
(From Our Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Two notices appearing in to-night's Gazette have a special bearing on the appointment of Major-General B. C'. Freyberg, V.C., to command the Secon i New Zealand Expeditionary Force. The first notice states that the GovernorGeneral has been pleased to approve Major-General Freyberg being placed on loan from the British Army to His Majesty's Government in New Zealand, dated November 21, 1939. The second notice states that the Governor-General approved Major-General Frey berg's appointment to command the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. This notice k dated January 5, 1940.
