Good Fields Engaged — Programme For To-morrow.

Good fields are engaged for the second day of the Auckland Racing Club's summer meeting, which will be continued at Ellerslie to-morrow, and with fine weather there should be another good day's racing. The x-ain that fell last night will have benefited the course considerably. The Ferguseon Handicap will open the programme and Meadow, after his second in the Queen's Plate yesterday, will have support. Serenata was third in that event, while Tea Gong was second in a division of the Robinson Handicap, seven furlongs, yesterday, and was a winner over the same distance at the Auckland midspring meeting. Millament was fourth in the Queen's Plate, while Cornish was second over seven furlongs yesterday. Probably most money will come for Meadow, Cornish, Serenata. The Hurdles. De Friend, the topweight in the Ponsonby Hurdles, has an engagement in the Plunket Handicap, the concluding event. He has shown good form over hurdles and recently has won on the flat. Inness Lad's beet performance this season over the battens wae a third at Avondale last month. Devon was second to Hopalong at Waipa last Saturday week and is not without good prospects. Little Briton occupied a similar position in the Hunt Cup at Cambridge, which was his last start. Ringshot has been going particularly well and ran good races at Te Rapa and Ellerslie last month. Glen Abb looks the best of the others. The chief selections may Be Devon, Ringshot. King's Plate. Only five remain in the King's Plate. Beaupartir has not been working as freely as ueuaj, while Beau Vite showed winning form _in Australia during the spring. Beaulivre has not been beaten this eeaeon and "will be favourite, while Orelio, who ran second to him in the Great Northern Guineas, is not without proepecte. The issue appears likely tq be confined to-Beau-livre and Beau Yite. The Chief Event. Fourteen figure in the Summer Cup, the chief event of the day. King Rey ran a good race in the Auckland Cup, and the distance will be more in his favour. The same remarks apply to Balinavar. Our Jean should be capable of running a good ten furlongs, while Gladyney has excellent form to commend him, winning the Te Awamutu Cup in his last start. Beaurepaire won so well over a mile on Tuesday that his prospects look bright. Baran, Paddy the Rip and Fila de Vaals should run a good mile and a quarter, while Erlick eeeme to be the pick of the remainder. The best backed may be: Gladynev, Our Jean, Beaurepaire.

Some Good Hacks. Some good hacks are engaged in the Waitemata Handicap, and Princese Val and Serenata have both shown good form. Inquisitor will not be troubled by the dietance, which is also in favour of Dauber, Palmint and Loombination. Spinning Wheel is a possibility, while Selwyn'e form has been promising. Starbright looks the best of the others. A trio that may appeal is: Princees Val, Serenata, Inquisitor. The Open Sprint. A dozen havej been paid up for in the Electric Handicap, Wie open sprint. Orate, the topweight, failed to jump away in the Railway Handicap yesterday and took no part in the race. while Brunhild won the Flying Handicap at Feildinjj last month, and has good prospects. Royal Bachelor is a smart sprinter, but his form has been patchy thie season. Maxam won at Whangarei, and wae second to Royal Bachelor at Avondale last month. Arvakur won at Ellerelie recently and made a fair showing in the Railway Handicap at Ellerslie yesterday. Valimeen, Oi-were and Te Monowai have all displayed winning form over the distance and are not without prospects. Three that may find most favour are: Amigo, Brunhild, Arvakur. The Open Mile.
