Provincial Cricket — Moderate

Scoring.

On good wickets, which were a shade slow after rain, the country week provincial cricket tournament was carried a further etage at the Auckland Domain cricket ground to-day.

There was moderate scoring, and the bowlers, generally, had the better of things.

Rodney, batting a man ehort, were dismissed by Auckland for 45, W. Dunning being the only batsman to make a stand. The batsmen found Arkinstall's epin bowling very difficult.

Thames scored 81 for the loss of seven wickets against Pukekohe, and had to face some excellent bowling by Burgess. Burrett got 36 not out, and Smith 20 by good batting. Waipa made a. strong opening against Hamilton and scored 04 runs for the loss of two wieketa. Larsen batted attractively for 59, and Finn scored 25 not out in good style.
