NO FURTHER CONCESSIONS
(Received n.ao a.m.)
SYDNEY, this day.
Colliery proprietors have decided to resist to the utmost any attempts by the mining unions to force further concessions from them by strikes.
They declared that the gains alreadyobtained by the unions through the Courts and by legislative action would mean tremendous costs to the owners.
The loaders of the coal mining iHiinns decided to defy the Arbitration Court by instructing all members to work only 40 hours a week without overtime, said a cable from Sydney on Wednesday last.
Tho full effect of the decision is unlikely to l*s felt until the resumption of work in tho coal mines after the holidays, probably a fortnight hence, when a general strike is considered certain to be precipitated.
