ACCIDENTAL DROWNING.

VERDICT AT DJQUEST

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) GISBORNE, this day. An inquest was held this morninp before the acting-coroner, Mr. C. Blackburn, J.P., regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Douglas James Brown, aged 8J years, whose body was recovered from the Waimata River on i Tuesday morning. ! Leicester Allan Brown, mechanic, and father of the deceased, said th e family , visited the Waimata River at a spot . known as Hole-in-the-Wall on Mondav.
