IMPRESSIONS OF PEOPLE.

TRAVELS OF CHURCHMAN,

Within the past year Pastor William A. Spicer, aged 74, world field secretary of the Seventh Day Adventist General Conference, of Washington, who is nowvisiting Auckland, has toured Poland and Finland. He said that' he first visited Finland in 190.i, when it was part of Russia. In recent years it showed marked progress and had become a country of clean, substantial cities. The Finns were people who minded their own business. "I fear they least expected attack from Russia in the north, as they made all their preparations for it to come from the south," he said. Mr. Spicer is paying his third visit to Xew Zealand to attend the Seventh Day Adventist conference in Auckland from December 27 to January 7. He will then proceed to Christchurch to attend the South Island conference. Pastor Spicer is at Hotel Stonehurst, accompanied by Pastor A. G.
