At this week's meeting of the Auckland KiV".v_ League advice was received irotn Halmain. the champion club team of Xew South AA ales. that. owinjz to the war, its proposed visit to Auckland for a series of matches at Car law Park has beett abandoned.
Ihe club asked that another invitation 1h extended early next season. The chairman. Mr. G. Grey Campbell, stated that the League- would certainly consider extending an invitation for next season.
Following the Koopc Rooster filial today, the champion of champions match and I'helan Shield final will take place next Saturday, and the season would be concluded with a gala diy and the Maori v. l'akoha match, in aid of the Injured Players' Fund, on September 30.
