REMUERA BRANCH.
A function was held in the Tudor lounge yesterday afternoon by the committee of the Remuera sub-centre of the Xew Zealand Red Crocs Society in honour of Miss M. E. Bates. The president, Mrs. W. P. Endean, in making a presentation to Miss Bates, thanked her on behalf of the committee for the valuable and untiring services she had given and was giving in the first aid and home nursing classes.
Mrs. F. Bauer gave a talk on "The Emden." Shoulder sprays were presented to Mrs. Bauer and Mrs. Endean. The secretary appealed to all to rally around the comforts committee and assist them in their excellent work.
Among the quests present were:. Mrs. R. XI. Algie, Miss Bates, Mrs. Endean, Mrs. Page, Mrs. Sinton, Senora Quiros, Mrs. Selwyn Morris, Mrs. Rose, Mrs. N. Chapman, Mrs. Duncan, Mrs. Victor Law, Mrs. Dawson Donaldson, Mrs. Cooke. Mrs. Xtecn, Miss Halligan. Afternoon ten was served by ladies of the committee, the hostesses being Mrs. Allan S pence. Mrs. }\ Farrell, Mrs. A. 11. Prnsscr. Mrs. Morruli and Mrs. A. 15. Proud.
