FOR DEMOCRACY.
YUGOSLAVS TAKE STAND.
"MUST DESTROY NAZI-ISM."
"In these crucial moments we take our stand, a«s always before, with the Australian people for "the defence of democracy, liberty and independence," says an announcement by the National Committee of the Progressive Federation of Yugoslav Immigrants in Australia. "We, the immigrants from Yugoslavia who have found home in Australia, have always shared the fate of Australia, and have no superior interests but the interests of democratic Australia and the Australian people," the message says. "We shall remain so in future.
"We are not, therefore, led by any other consideration, nor by the attitude of any other quarter, even that of the Government of Yugoslavia, shall its policy be with Nazi-ism against democracy. We take this opportunity to state for our people in Yugoslavia, that they too will remain true to democracy. "The fight ie on, the fight for democracy, liberty and independence of nations; Nazi-ism must be destroyed, and that entails safeguarding and strengthening of democracy everywhere. "Australia, its people and democracy can count on us and we shall take our paTt to the fullest in that grim fight, come what mav."
