RIDER UNCONSCIOUS.
HORSE KILLED UNDER HIM.
COLLISION WITH LORRY. (From Our Correspondent.) NEW PLYAIOUTH, Thursday
To have the horse he was riding killed under him in a collision with a motor lorry was the experience of a youth near Eltham. He was Maurice Wiliiams, aged IS, and he suffered concussion in the fall.
The accident occurred at a bend in the Rawhitiroa Road, where the grade is fairly steep. A lorry driven by Mr. Owen MacDonakl and laden with wood and other goods was unable to avoid the horse and tider, who crashed into the left of the vehicle. The rider was thrown clear, but the horse was killed instantly. Williams was still unconscious when lie was admitted to the Stratford Hospital, but he was not seriously injured.
