LONDON, September 5.
An Independent cable states that it is estimated the abandonment of the New Zealand Rugbv League tour will cost the team £8000 sterling. They are now trying to return home. Mr. John Wilson, Rugbv League secretary, said: "I don't know when it will be possible for them to leave. I am in touch with travel agencies and steamship companies." v
Tiie estimate of £8000 (£IO,OOO in NewZealand currency) appears to be a confusion with the original estimated cost of the whole tour, which was placed at between £10,000 artd £12,000. The curtailment of the tour obviously involves curtailment of exppnses.
