LIQUOR AT HOSPITAL.

CHAIRMAN'S DOUBTS.

"BILL IS CREEPING UP."

"I call the attention of the members to the stimulant return. The liquor bill is growing again," commented the chairman, Mr. Allan J. Moody, at the Auckland Hospital Board meeting last evening. "There seems to be a lack of supervision somewhere." The return showed that in June the amount of brandy consumed was !)Soz, and of stout 90 bottles. In July brandy totalled 431 oz, and stout 380 bottles.

"The liquor bill is creeping up and creeping up," he said. "When the board first took a stand the returns dropped practically to nothing." Dr. Hilda Northcroft pointed out that it had been a particularly severe \tinter. That perhaps accounted for the rise.
