A former Dunediu youth, George Burnand, aged 19, has arrived at Fontainebleu. He has been charged with lack of entrance papers and vagrancy, says the Telegraph Exchange Paris correspondent. He said lie was going to Marseilles, where lie hoped to stow away for New Zealand. He arrived in England from New Zealand in February. He was sentenced to a month's imprisonment as & stowaway.' He had worked as a dishwasher in Whitechapel and had earned enough to reach Boulogne on August 12.
