PRICE OF BEER.
PUBLICANS RESTIVE.
TRIBUNAL'S INVESTIGATION. MASS MEETING TO-MORROW. (Bj- .Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", this day. According to the president of the Wellington Licensed Victuallers' Association, the new price of beer has been subjcet to investigation by the Price Investigation Tribunal. The association meets on Monday, and it is. expected the tribunal's findings will be available for that meeting.
A mass meeting has been called for to-morrow afternoon at the Basin Reserve to consider the price of beer.
It is stated a number of Wellington publicans arc restive over the effcct of the beer war on receipts across bars since many labour unions have declared hotels black, and that at least one popular hotel in Wellington intends next week to revert to the old price of 5d a '"handle" for beer bought in a public bar.
