BRITISH LOANS.
Visitors to tliis country praise the advance made in a century, but fail to give Britain credit for lending. the money that made possible that advance. Complaint is made of the big sum paid in interest during the last 40 years. Should we not he ashamed to owe a debt so long? Surely it is a bold-faced thing to scold so patient a lender. And it would be a gigantic interest a Xew Zealand money-lender would require for 40 years lending. Surely the credit of this country is being severely strained by its present rulers. It is "spoils to the victors." INTERESTED.
