HIGHER PETROL TAX.
PROTEST BY FARMERS.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE, this day. The increase of 4d per gallon in the taxation on benzine wae discussed at a meeting of tlie Morrinsville branch of the Farmers' Union last evening when a resolution, which will be forwarded to the Auckland executive of the union, was passed as follows: —"That while we as farmers, are willing to bear our fair share of the cost of national defence we strongly object to the increased petrol tax because it is an unjust burden on benzine users, especially the farming industry."
