The Italian Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, and Herr von Ribbentrop, German Foreign Minister, returned to Salzburg after an hour's meeting ivith Herr Hitler. A 'plane was waiting to rush Count Ciano to Rome, where he will report to Signor Mussolini to-night.

It is understood that complete agreement was reached 011 questions, on which Count Ciano and Herr Hitler slept overnight.

The Associated Press of America reports that the meetings were rushed to a conclusion because of Herr Hitler's desire for immediate decisions on vital points.

High German sources said that the Axis has decided on a united course of action 011 all urgent and less urgent problems affecting them. Danzig was discussed but no time limit was fixed for a settlement.

Renter's is informed that extra European problems were also discussed. A further meeting in the immediate future was not planned. Count Ciano left in a 'plane for Kome at 2.10 p.m.

Herr Hitler warmly welcomed Count Ciano as he stepped from his car at Berchtesgaden, accompanied by Herr von Ribbentrop, said an earlier message.

Herr Hitler, Herr von Ribbentrop and Count Ciano held a three-hour conversation, as the result of which a complete agreement is reported to have been reached regarding action in the event of war. Press Increasingly Menacing. The Berlin Press grows increasingly menacing in tone. It urges Britain not to leave tire fate of Europe in the hands of Polish irresponsibles. The newspapers have opened the floodgates of anti-Polish propaganda and released all the atrocity stories that have been stored up for months. They also provide unmistakable evidence of Germany's aggressive intentions. Typical screamings are: —

The "12-Ulirblatt": "Polish megalomania. which unleashed the anti-German persecution lias already started a war before which the democracies tremble." It alleges there have been 204 attacks against Germans within five weeks.

The "Volkischer Beobachter" says significantly: "It is absolutely unprecedented that a great nation should tolerate foreign control of communications between two parts of the country. Poland's behaviour is only contributing to having this question examined with real seriousness."

The "National Zeitung": "Germany has hitherto not published the full brutality of the Polish terror, believing that Poland's Chauvinistic running amok would subside, but British and French backing has turned Poland's head."

The Polish authorities have banned 27 German newspapers and periodicals, says a message from Warsaw.

Polish official newspapers declare that Danzig is merely a pretext for a German attempt to establish hegemony in Europe. Dr. Goebbels' latest declaration that the whole of Europe—south, east and later west —must undergo revision is accepted as confirmation of this interpretation.

It is stated from Salzburg- that the Polish police arrested four members of the German Air Force and four civilians in the Polish Corridor.
