SLOVAK EXTENDS RIGGS

NEW YORK, August 13,
In the semi-final of the Rye tennis tournament R. L. Riggs (United States) beat L. Hecht (Czechoslovakia), 7 —5, 10—S, C—4.
To repel the determined attack of the Czechoslovakia!!, Riggs was forced to display his best form since lie won the British championship at Wimbledon.
Riggs has now to meet in the final F. A. Barker, who was a member of the United States team which beat Great Britain for- the Davis Cup, at Wimbledon, in 1937.
In the women's doubles final Mrs. Fabyan and Miss Marble beat Misses Bundy and Arnold, o—i, 7 —5.
