ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME

LARGE ATTENDANCE.

The hosts and hostesses at the Athenian C'lnb 011 Saturday evening were Mr. and Mrs. A. Spenser, and Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Croydon, who entertained a large attendance of members and visitors with "A London Night."

The opening swne was set at a coffee stall at London Bridge, "Big Ben" chiming the hour of three to introduce the typical characters found in sucli haunts. The Cockney characters were played by Messrs. A. Spenser and W. Angel; the proprietor of the stall, Mr. A. Parkes; the "toff,"' Mr. W. Svenson; the "flower girl," Mrs. A. Parkes. Mr. C. Breeze characterised a street musician. Artists who assisted in preserving the theme of the evening in the presentation of an exceptionally humorous entertainment were Mrs. A. Parkes and Messrs. J. J. Fox and Rex Yates.

The hall was gaily decorated and the distribution of suitable novelties at intervals during the evening lent colour to a very successful function.
