AMUSEMENTS.
ROXY-TIVOLI. Jack Holt stars as a doctor fighting to bring modern medical methods into a backwoods community, in "The Strange Case of Dr. Meade," opening to-morrow at the Roxy and Tivoli Theatres. In a virile type of role that suits him well, he gives a performance that measures up to his best, and further consolidates his claim to be ranked with the finest actors of his kind in Hollywood. Noah Beery, jun., a promising young player, and Beverly Roberts provide the mmantic interest of the film, as a pair of smail-town youngsters who help the doctor in his thankless task. Paul Everton. Barbara Pepper, Russell Simpsou and Helen Jerome are prominent in the supporting cast. In the develop-; ment of the plot, a famous doctor goes to a mountain village for a vacation, and there he finds ignorance and prejudice which almost prevents him from altering the shocking medical situation in the district. Charles Farrell, Jacqueline Wells and Alexander D'Arcy are the principals of the associate attraction, "Flight to Fame," an aviation drama dealing with the adventures of an army officer searching for the cause of the mysterious deaths of several fliers.
