THE CHAMPIONSHIP. MT. ALBERT MEET MANUKAU. MARIST PLAY NORTH SHORE. The principal attraction of the Auckland Rugby League's senior championship matches on Saturday will be the meeting of the Mount Albert and Manukau Clubs. Mount Albeit were the leading team in the competition until overtaken by North Shore, and in recent matches have been showing tine team play. They have a well-balanced side, strong in the forwards, and a back division which can combine effectively. Manukau play bright and I open football of the kind that is popular with the spectators, and are a team capable at any time of springing a surprise. In the early match on the Xo. 1 ground North Shore will meet Marist. The former team has risen to the top of the table by sheer consistency, and have the best defensive side in Auckland. Marist should be able to make a good contest of it, and the margin between the two teams at the end may be small. l'onsonby will play City in the early match on the No. 2 ground, and a close and even game i.s anticipated, as both teams are practically even in playing strength. I'apakura have been drawn to meet Newton, and on current form the latter may win, although the surburban team has been showing improving form of late. The Fixtures. Senior.— Mount Albert v. .Manukau.
