SINGAPORE, June 23.
An official communique has been issued by the defence conference of British and French Staff officers, which has been meeting here, saying that the conference is expected to close on Monday when Admiral Sir Percy Noble, Commander of the British China Squadron, will "sail in H.M.S. Kent for Northern China waters."
The communique adds that unanimous agreement has been reached on all matters of policy.
The two main points, which were decided within a few minutes at the first meeting of the conference, were: — That Admiral Sir Percy Noble be commander of the British and French forces and that Singapore be the base from which all Far Eastern activities shall be directed.
A problem which evoked a long discussion was the position of Siani. It is understood that the conference was told that Siam is friendly and wishes to remain neutral, but felt that she would inevitably be forced to take sides if war broke out.
