Wind Currents On Trip Across
Indian Ocean.
BASE AT SEYCHELLES. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Commonwealth official reporter aboard the survey flying boat f.'nlm cables from Mahe, Seychelles, that the survey of the Seychelles Islands lia« been completed with results which showthat the Mahe base is suitable for marine aircraft of the present and future. The Cuba will depart for Mombasa at 2 a.m. (Greenwich mean time) to-day. As was anticipated, surface winds over the whole route from Australia to the Seychelles have been east to southeast, and observations have been made of changes of wind with the heights at f.-hich the Guba has flown. This has revealed wind forces and directions which will have a considerable bearing upon the altitudes at which aircraft of the future will be regularly flown.
