The fact was hroujrht to tlie a^-ofiation , * notice some two months ago That a nine-hole course was available for golf at the Mental Hospital, hut that the patient* had only a very few old elul* with which to play. At our request the editor of your "Ex-Service-men's Pago" in the Week-end Pictorial kindly inserted a statement of the position in that pa?p. The matter was further alluded to in »iy association's annual report, with the result that we have been able to deliver to the Mental Hospital 20 aborted dub- —•«« new and the remainder nearly new —two golf hag* and over 30 golf hnlls. More are promised, and will he sent out a* they are revived. This beinsr so. it is somewhat misleading to the public for appeals to he ma<le over the air or otherwise by di-*>stabli>hed bodies when the need* of the ex-servicemen are already being amply catered for by the R.S.A. I would strongly recommend member? of the public, when any appeal? are made «Mi behalf of ex-'ervicemen. to inquire from the responsible and recognised body, the Auckland R.S.A., how the matter stand?.
