MANUREWA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
j The ordinary- meeting of tl.e Manurewa Borough Council was held last evening. Mr. W. X. Cox presiding in the absence of the Mayor, Mr. W. J. Ferguson. Works Report.—The borough foreman reporting on work in the borough, stated that 33 men were engaged on works. Treeplanting and levelling were still in progress. The filling of the western side of Russell Road was not yet completed. Rubbish collection was in progress and there has been a good response by ratepayers. Red Cross Society.—ln reply to a letter irom the New Zealand Red Cross Society l. was decided to invite the society to form a branch in \lanurewa Harbour Bridge-It was decided to suppoit the proposal for ap inquiry or comAS™HaS U S° f the Pr ° POSed Damage by Stock.-The damage to cons>ti uc-tion work in the borough bv herds of travelling stock was the subject of r, t ; 1 \?° nl V lent by nle '"bers. It was stated that the damage becoming a serious problem and something would have to be done to protect the Toad and footpath formation works. Several schemes were discussed and the matter was left in the hands of the borough foreman and the clerk to make lnqjikiea.
