JUMPERS AT TE RAPA

ALL IRISH SCHOOLS.

RED SUX'S POOR DISPLAY.

(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.")

HAMILTON, this day.

A feature of the work at Te Rapa this morning was the schooling of All Irwh over the steeplechase country. A heavy fog obscured the course until a late hour, and though it had cleared somewhat when All Irish iJIr. M. O'Connor) went out, a portion of the course was still enveloped. and owing to the bad visibility All Irish did not attempt to jump tl4 soil-wall near the half-mile post, the brush by the three furlongs post, and ihe sod-wall at the foot of the straight. He jumped off at the brush leading out of the straight, and though his early fencing was not impressive it improved the second time round. Red Sun (Sinton) was to liave accompanied All Irish, but balked at the first obstacle and refused again at the second attempt. As All Irish came round again, however, Red Sun followed him over, but after jomping the next fence he balked at the brush by the seven furlongs post, and was not persevered with. All Irish, who looks in solid condition, executed his work well and should strip in good order for engagements at the meeting. •- Subsequently when Student Prince (R. E. Thomson) and Dark Rose (Brady) were associated in a bout over the schooling hurdles, Red Sun joined in, and when Student Prince and Dark Rose were eassd up after jumping the second fenee, Ri»d Sun carried on alone over a further six flights. He jumped satisfactorily, but was not impressive. Student Prince jumped fast and cleanly at his fences, and is apparently in forward condition for racing at the meeting. The only gallop of the morning recorded on the Xo. 2 grass track, which was open for fast work, was that of Xotium and Rosemae (Long I *, the former finishing clear of his companion at the completion of half a mile in -4S 4-.is. It was a pleasiiv effort on the pir' of Xotium, who. v. ill have ;i strong following in the secor l livision of the open sprint to-morrow. W. IT. Mnria stated this morning that Airbill w.niM probably contest the Presi-■■b-nt's Hr-'l'i-nn in preference to the Wail > Hurdles. As yet, no rider has been er-~red for her. Triune is to be rid'len in the second <liv:sion of the open sprint by 0. McInaHy. Farland. a fancied candidate for the second division of the Stewards' Handican, was exercised over a couple of routids by his trainer. A. McGregor. The gelding is bearing a particularly healthy appearance am] his impressive record at Te Rapa will ensure him a solid following in his engagements at the meeting. J. Mclnally's Injuries. The injurv received by .T. Mclnally while schooling Airam at Te Rapa yesterday is more serious than was at first anticipated and he will not be riding at the W aikato winter meeting. Mclnally was cut rather severely about the eye, which required several stitches.
