RECRUITING APPEAL.

SUPPORT AT MOUNT ALBERT. Support for the Auckland recruiting appeal was unanimously given at a meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council. It was decided to offer borough employees every facility to join the territorials, to give time off for training purposes when possible, and to make up the. difference between military and council piy. The Mayor, Mr. H. A. Anderson, said that the proposal ill regard to payment would operate., when there was necessary training, or the men were in camp, but it would not apply to night parades or Saturday training. COLUMN TOURS PROVINCE. (From Our Correspondent.) TAURAXGA, Wednesday. With the object of stimulating interest in recruiting for the Territorial forces. the A Squadron, 4th Mounted Rifles Composite Regiment (Motorized), arrived at Taiiranga this afternoon from Rotorua. The squadron, which is commanded by Major D. H. C. Wilson, gave a demonstration in the Domain, the Bren gun carriers taking a prominent part. The men bivouacked to-night at the Gate Pa racecourse, and will leave to-morrow morning for Paeroa.
