HIGHWAY FROM WANGANUI. (By Telegrapn.—Press Association.) WAXGAXUI, Wednesday. The Parapara highway, leading from Wanganui to the centre of the Wand, has been the scene of much reconstruction work of a major nature during the past two years and the work is now well advanced towards the boundary between Wanganui and Waiuiarino counties. Most of the work consists of eliminating dangerous bends, involving- lar<fo fillings and the diverting of *treanif> ii\ which tunnelling is adopted in papa to wave the cost of bridges. Work on the highway will continue for at least two years and a survey has been made of the Waimarino County end to include major works. Two miles of the highway have been tar-sealed, and preparations are in hand for an extensive sealing programme next summer.
